Can you believe it’s Christmas eve?! Today I will be heading over to my parents house for a delicious Christmas Eve dinner (tacos) and I will be spending the night so I can wake up Christmas morning for pastries and gifts! Can’t wait!

So relaxing and cozy! Right when I walk in the door, I turn on the Christmas lights on the tree. Those lights make me so happy.
I know, how cliche. Everyone seems to be doing crossfit, it’s like the thing to do. But hear me out. I really dislike exercising. The gym bores me to tears, I cannot stand running, and I’ve tried at home DVD’s. I was doing Turbofire for a good 6 months and really enjoyed it but after awhile the DVD’s started getting repetitive and I was getting bored (see a theme here?). Anyways, a few weeks ago I saw a deal on Living Social for 5 beginner classes of crossfit for $30. So I thought why not? Plus, the crossfit gym is literally 5 blocks up from when I live. And? Well I loved it of course. Every one was super friendly, the trainers were awesome and the workout was challenging. The only downside for me is the cost but I think it’s completely worth it. I’ve been going 4x a week and have never been this sore in my life. Love it.

If you have never seen this show you need to! Season 2 has been fantastic. You don’t even need to see season 1 to understand so start season 2! It’s crazy, weird, scary and so twisted. I look forward to it every week.

I’m having my site totally redesigned. It will be much easier to navigate and I’ll be able to really personalize my blog. I’m so excited! Should be up and running by the new year. If you “follow” me on WordPress I will lose you so make sure you subscribe by email! Baking, blogging, and photography would be like my total dream job. 🙂
I’m back into them again. I was super into Paleo pancakes but lately overnight oats are winning. It’s easier to grab in the morning for work since I have to be there by 6:30 a.m.! My recipe: 1/4 cup oats, 1/2 scoop protein powder, 1/2 tsp chia seeds, 1 Tbs sunflower butter, almond milk, cinnamon and stevia. Put in the fridge over night and enjoy.
I just discovered this site. If you need a laugh when you’re at work then this is perfect.

Easy, n0-bake chocolate bark perfect for the holiday season.
Add whatever mix-in’s you like! I choose marshmallows, holiday M&M’s, pretzels and peanuts. Sweet and salty!
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 Tbs butter
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup M&M’s
1/2 cup pretzels, chopped
1/2 cup peanuts, chopped
1. Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan on the stove. Stir until melted. Let cool until warm. Pour into 8×8 baking dish. Make sure baking dish is covered in foil first!
2. Mix marshmallows, M&M’s, pretzels and peanuts in a bowl then pour over the chocolate, pressing down.
3. Put in fridge for 30 minutes to set. Cut into bars. Enjoy!
These cookies always make me think of the holidays.
They are super chocolatey and rich.
This recipe makes 60 cookies so be sure to share with your family and friends.
Best served with a cold glass of milk.

Makes 60 cookies
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
2 cups flour
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1. In a small saucepan combine chocolate and shortening. Heat and stir over low heat until melted and smooth. Cool for 15 minutes.
2. In a large bowl, combine eggs, sugar, baking powder, vanilla and salt. Stir in chocolate mixture. Gradually add flour, stirring until thoroughly until combined. Cover dough; chill for 2 hours.
3. Preheat oven to 375 F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls into powdered sugar to coat generously. Place balls 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.
4. Bake about 10 minutes or until edges are set. Enjoy!

What do you want most for Christmas?
Instead of shopping on Black Friday with all the crazy crowds, we decided to do some shopping on Saturday instead and it was awesome! We went at 9 a.m. and the mall was dead! Plus they had the same sale prices as they did on Black Friday. Win!
We went to Home Depot after and got our first tree together.
We had a fun afternoon decorating the tree, playing Christmas music, and eating our favorite chocolate orange ball.
The rest of the weekend was spent grocery shopping, bowling with some new friends, playing Scrabble, watching Elf, reading, baking and relaxing. It’s back to work today 😦
